A few Skiing Pictures
We got up to Mont Tremblant Sunday evening without much of a problem. Stopped at the supermarket for some high-priced Canadian food and some beer that I haven't had in five years....Kilkenny. So Good!
Early Monday the guys and I headed out at 8:30 when the lifts opened and skied hard all day. We certainly tried to cover as much of the mountain as we could to get a feel for what we liked. We had great conditions and great snow. Also, the views from the summit were incredible. Too bad i didn't bring my camera that day. Lisa and the girls hung back and worked out, then walked around the village a little bit and booked their Dogsledding and Horseback riding trips for later in the week. We all had dinner at the Chinese restaurant on the mountain, O-Wok, which was fantastic.
Day two I headed out by myself early for some first runs while Dan and Jesse rented skis for Ashley and Kelly. It was really windy and a little icy for the first few runs, but conditions really improved and it snowed for a while too. In the afternoon (and in the morning too actually) Dan and I hit up some tree skiing on The Edge. Really fantastic. We took a few pictures also, so check them out below. Lisa and I walked around the village in the late afternoon and checked out the shops and such. We had a little bit of beer and appetizers at the village micro-brasserie (brewery) and headed back for some dinner and a movie.
Today (Wednesday) the temperature shot up from 16 (yesterday) to 37 this morning. And it rained.... so we stayed off the mountain and all went to the creperie for breakfast, followed by a visit to the patisserie for some pastries. Well, somewhere during my croissant, I either chipped a tooth or lost a filling. I'm thinking it's a filling because it's a pretty sizable hole and doesn't hurt much (yet?). It's also pretty sharp. Brushing my teeth with cold water wasn't too bad, so I'm hoping I can hold off on visiting a dentist until we get back to the states, which I'm sure I will. Just really a downer...hopefully i don't fall while skiing and bite off my tongue!
Anyway, here are a few pictures from yesterday (none with Lisa yet...). Lisa is going dogsledding tomorrow and we're snowshoeing on Friday, then Lisa and the girls are horseback riding on Saturday, so I'm sure more pictures will be coming.
Well, the rain turned to snow a little while ago, so hopefully we'll get out there this afternoon...
Talk to you all soon!
John and Lisa
