Kayak backwords is still Kayak

Lisa and I had one last pre-surgery hurrah this weekend with a trip to my old Camp Mason stomping grounds for a 10 mile Kayak excursion down the Delaware River (up in the Delaware Water Gap area). We were joined by good friends Steve, Scott, Zura, Jesse, Kelly, Tom and Dana. What a good time!

The trip was long, and when we got to the end we were ready for it to be over, but our time floating down the river was both relaxing and exciting. There were a few small patches of rapids, and we stopped off at 'Diving Rock' to play around for a while. I made sure not to tell any of the girls about the Water Moccasin I saw as I was getting back into my Kayak. Tom succeeded in swimming clear across the Delaware, though the current pulled him downstream a bit, and I succeeded in proving myself wrong when I tried showing everybody how hard it was to capsize a kayak. I flipped right on in. Anyway, here are some pictures, and a video from Diving Rock!

Lisa's surgery is this Tuesday, so after that maybe Lisa will start an ACL Recovery Blog while she's hanging around the house!
